Shafa is an Urdu word, which means ‘power of healing’. Based on the oldest and most effective model of healing, Shafa Home acts as a harbinger of hope, self-realization and true happiness for hundreds of recovering alcohol/drug dependents. Shafa, a non-profit organization, goes one step ahead of the traditional methods to treat addiction and behavioral disorders by using well-researched methods of healing. Volunteers who have already undergone successful treatment at Shafa and have their own personal experience into recovery make the team of our devoted staff. They are skilled in the complexities of the disease and are passionate about helping people like them recover from addiction.
Treatment at Shafa is based on a holistic module that emphasizes on the Physical, Psychological, Social and Spiritual recovery of the residents. We view addiction as a disease, characterized by a dependence on substance and behaviors. Though the disease is chronic and progressive, it’s definitely treatable. WE DO NOT PERMIT THE USE OF ANY MOOD-ALTERING SUBSTANCE in any of our facilities as we believe in 100 % abstinence from day one. We feel that recovery is not a destination; it’s a journey that requires a firm commitment to abstinence from alcohol/drugs and compulsive behaviors. Above all, Shafa Home is a home away from home that assists its residents in regaining their self-esteem and self-worth.

Turning Point Foundation is a registered society under the Societies Registration Act 1860; Government of India. TPF started its operation by establishing its first center in 2002, to provide services free of cost to all the drug addicts who can’t afford to pay any treatment charges. To financially sustain them they started their second center which is a paid center in 2006, after having seen a demand from the families to have better facilities for the patients and the willingness to pay for it. The rehabilitation center provided the beneficiaries with a healthy environment where they can live with dignity and respect. TPF endeavors to include and integrate beneficiaries into a stable and homely environment, enabling them to lead normal lives with daily routine tasks being performed every day. The rehabilitation center treat drug addicts by adopting a threefold approach focusing on preventive, curative and creating awareness of healthy lifestyle which makes it stand out among other rehabilitation centers. To realize this aim, TPF follows a holistic approach consisting of multifarious activities such as education, healthcare, skill training and performing various tasks of daily life. Yoga, meditation and Nature Cure were also a integral part of the life of the inmates.
