Fans speculate that he meets the diagnostic criteria for PTSD, including living in denial and experiencing nightmares.

Throughout his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, “Iron Man” Tony Stark (essayed by Robert Downey Jr.) appears to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  

He is in denial of his problems, besides suffering from anxiety problems and nightmares. 

He exhibits distressing recollections and appears to have suppressed his traumatic memories.
