In a bid to extend its reach and provide much-needed mental health services to a broader community, Firefly Wellness Counseling has relocated to Scottdale.

The new facility marks an important step in the center’s mission to offer support and healing to individuals facing mental health challenges.

Additionally, Firefly is introducing an array of expanded services, including group therapy options, to cater to the diverse needs of its growing clientele.

Firefly Wellness Counseling Is Committed To Provide Mental Health Support

Established in 2016 in downtown Decatur, Firefly Wellness Counseling quickly gained prominence for its commitment to mental health and well-being.

As the demand for its services surged, the need for larger premises became evident. Owner Anne Rice, a licensed therapist with seven years of experience, recognized the pressing need for accessible mental health resources within communities.

Rice’s journey into the field of mental health was driven by personal experiences growing up in a smaller Georgia town, Carrollton.

She witnessed the devastating impact of a lack of mental health resources, with multiple suicides and attempted suicides among her peers.

“By the time I had graduated high school, I’d known four people who committed suicide and many more who had attempted,” Rice recalled. “I grew up in a smaller, Georgia town, and mental health resources, at that time, weren’t great. As a result, I became passionate about mental health.”

Anne Rice brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Firefly Wellness Counseling. She has dedicated her career to helping adults and teens navigate life’s challenges, drawing on her academic background in psychology from Princeton University and a graduate degree in counseling psychology from Boston College.

Her commitment to professional development is underscored by her licensing in both Georgia and New York, as well as her status as a certified professional counselor supervisor.

At Firefly Wellness Counseling, Rice has meticulously crafted a welcoming and secure environment where individuals can freely express their thoughts and emotions.

Her own experiences as a mother of two young children have fueled her dedication to fostering mental well-being within her community.

Firefly’s expansion to Scottdale signifies its determination to broaden its impact. The new location is poised to become a sanctuary for those seeking mental health support, where individuals can access a range of therapeutic options tailored to their unique needs.

Group therapy is one of the innovative services being introduced at Firefly. This approach allows individuals to engage in a supportive and collaborative environment, facilitated by trained therapists.

Group therapy can be particularly beneficial for those who find solace in shared experiences and the collective wisdom of a group setting.

The move to Scottdale and the expansion of services align with Firefly’s overarching mission to provide accessible and comprehensive mental health care.

The center remains steadfast in its commitment to addressing the critical mental health needs of communities, recognizing that mental well-being is a cornerstone of a thriving society.

Firefly Wellness Counseling’s dedication to its clients and its vision of a mentally healthier world continue to guide its growth and impact.

As it settles into its new Scottdale home, the center envisions serving as a beacon of hope for individuals and families facing mental health challenges, offering them a path toward healing and resilience.

In an era where the importance of mental health is increasingly recognized, Firefly Wellness Counseling stands as a testament to the power of compassionate care and professional expertise.

Anne Rice and her team are poised to make a significant difference in the lives of those they serve, extending a warm welcome to all who seek their guidance and support.

With the expansion to Scottdale and the introduction of group therapy services, Firefly Wellness Counseling takes a significant stride towards fulfilling its mission of fostering mental well-being and enhancing the quality of life for individuals and communities alike.
