Ryan Reynolds, renowned for his role in “Deadpool,” took the opportunity of Mental Health Day to discuss his personal struggles with anxiety and share his methods to battle anxiety.

The actor was honored at the 11th Annual Revels & Revelations Gala for Bring Change to Mind, a non-profit mental health foundation focused on destigmatizing mental health issues.

Ryan Reynolds’s Revelations On Methods To Battle Anxiety

During the event, Reynolds candidly shared his approach to managing anxiety. He confessed that it’s not always easy, saying, “Not always great, to be honest.” He acknowledged the existence of his “own little methods to battle anxiety and those kinds of things that help me stay grounded and keep my mind from spinning out of control.” These rituals, he explained, are his coping mechanisms.

Reynolds further disclosed that he often tends to overbook himself when grappling with anxiety, recognizing this as a pattern in his behavior. He also highlighted the importance of taking time for himself and mentioned that he turns to meditation as a means of calming his mind.

This isn’t the first time Ryan Reynolds has opened up about his struggles with anxiety. In 2022, he shared his lifelong battle with anxiety in an interview with CBS Sunday Mornings.

He described the feeling of extreme nervousness he experienced before public appearances, like his appearances on shows like “Letterman.” He recalled thinking, “I’m gonna die. I’m literally gonna die here.”

Ryan Reynolds described a remarkable change that happens when he steps onto the stage. He said, “But as soon as that curtain opens – and this happens in my work a lot too – it’s like this little guy takes over. He’s like, ‘I’ve got this.

You’re fine.’ I feel my heart rate slow down, my breathing becomes calm, and I become a different person.” This transformation shows how he copes with anxiety by shifting into a more confident and composed persona when in the spotlight. It’s like a switch that helps him overcome his nerves and perform at his best.

Ryan Reynolds’ openness about his struggles with anxiety resonates with many and underscores the importance of discussing mental health. By sharing his experiences, he contributes to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues and encourages others to seek help and support when needed.

Reynolds’ participation in the Revels & Revelations Gala for Bring Change to Mind highlights the significance of raising awareness about mental health and promoting open conversations about mental health challenges, especially on occasions like Mental Health Day.

The event served as a platform to inspire change and foster a more compassionate and understanding approach to mental health issues.
